High-Speed Laser Cut Brass – No Reflective Damage Guaranteed

To laser cut brass, Tianchen employs a patented anti-reflection feedback system that monitors back-reflected light and adjusts the power in microseconds. This protects the laser resonator completely. Cutting thickness: 0.3mm to 5mm (brass), up to 3mm for high-lead brass. Typical uses: decorative hardware, musical instrument parts, gears, and ammunition casings. Our cutting head includes a sapphire protective window and a high-pressure nozzle (up to 25 bar) to eject molten material. The result when you laser cut brass is a bright, burr-free edge with a heat-affected zone under 0.2mm. Tianchen’s machines are used by leading lock manufacturers and watch component makers. Choose us to laser cut brass reliably, day after day.

Advantages of the product

Ultra-High Cutting Accuracy Within ±0.03mm

With nearly three decades of innovation, our metal laser cutting equipment achieves positioning accuracy up to ±0.03mm per meter. This precision is maintained even on complex geometries and thick plates up to 30mm. The advanced servo control system and rigid bed design eliminate thermal deformation, ensuring consistent cut quality across thousands of cycles. For industries like aerospace and medical device manufacturing, this level of accuracy reduces secondary processing and material waste significantly. Our in-house developed beam shaping technology delivers a smaller kerf width and smoother edge, directly improving welding and assembly efficiency. Each machine undergoes a 72-hour continuous cutting test before delivery, guaranteeing that the precision specs hold under real production loads.

29 Years of Proven Expertise in Metal Fabrication

Founded in 1995, the company has dedicated 29 years exclusively to metal forming and cutting technologies. This long history means our metal laser cutting solutions are not generic products but are refined through thousands of real-world installations. We have witnessed the transition from CO2 to fiber lasers and have mastered every technical nuance along the way. Our R&D team, many of whom have been with us for over a decade, continuously improves beam delivery, nozzle design, and cutting parameter libraries. As a result, our machines cut stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper, and titanium with optimized parameters out of the box. This deep domain knowledge also translates into smarter troubleshooting and more effective training for your operators.

Laser cutting brass is an application that highlights the versatility and precision of modern fiber laser technology. Brass, an alloy of copper and zinc, shares some of the challenging characteristics of its base metals, including high reflectivity and thermal conductivity. However, Tianchen Laser's fiber laser cutting machines are adept at processing brass sheet, delivering clean, accurate cuts for a wide range of decorative and functional applications. The process is similar to cutting copper, relying on the fiber laser's shorter wavelength to ensure efficient energy absorption and a stable cutting process. The use of nitrogen as an assist gas is standard practice, as it prevents oxidation and helps to produce a clean, bright cut edge that is characteristic of high-quality brass fabrication. The ability to laser cut brass opens up significant opportunities for custom manufacturing in industries where aesthetics and precision are paramount. Common applications include the production of decorative architectural hardware, custom lighting fixtures, precision components for musical instruments, intricate stencils, and detailed model-making parts. The laser's ability to produce complex, filigree-like patterns with a narrow kerf is particularly valuable for artistic and design-oriented brass work. Furthermore, the speed and repeatability of the CNC process make it economically viable for both small-batch custom orders and larger-scale production runs. This technology allows designers and fabricators to explore new levels of detail and complexity in brass, a material valued for its appearance and workability.

Do you provide training for operating the machine?

Yes, we provide comprehensive on-site and online training for your operators and maintenance staff. The training covers safety protocols, software nesting, machine operation, daily maintenance, and trouble shooting. Each purchase includes 3 days of on-site training at your facility. We also offer video tutorials and a remote support hotline for ongoing questions. Certification is provided after successful training.
Our metal laser cutter offers much higher precision (±0.03mm vs ±1mm of plasma), narrower kerf (0.15mm vs 2mm), and a smoother edge without dross. Laser cutting also produces a smaller heat-affected zone, preserving material properties. For sheets under 25mm, laser is faster and more cost-effective. Plasma is only better for very thick plates (over 50mm) where precision is less critical. Most of our customers switch from plasma to laser for reduced secondary processing.
Daily maintenance includes cleaning the cutting head nozzle and checking the lens. Weekly tasks include greasing rails and checking cooling water levels. Monthly, you should replace the protective lens and check air filters. The laser source requires no maintenance for 100,000 hours. Our regional service team can also perform annual preventive maintenance for a fixed fee. A detailed maintenance guide is provided with each machine.

Finally a laser cutter that handles copper easily

We do custom heat sinks and busbars. Reflective copper (3-8mm) always caused back-reflection alarms on our previous machine. Tianchen's anti-reflection design cuts copper without any issues. The parameters for brass and bronze are also spot-on. The machine is very user-friendly; our new operators learned nesting in two days. Shipping from China to our Texas warehouse took only 12 days. Very satisfied.

Low operating cost saved us $15k in first year

We compared electricity and gas consumption before buying. Tianchen's metal laser cutter uses 30% less nitrogen than our competitor's machine because of their low-pressure cutting mode. The fiber source also idles at under 100W. Over 4,000 operating hours, we saved $9,000 on electricity and $6,000 on gas. The machine cost 20% less than European brands too. Smart investment for any fabrication shop.

Each machine features standard Ethernet/IP and Profibus interfaces, enabling seamless communication with loaders, unloaders, sorting robots, and storage towers. The intelligent nesting software automatically assigns cutting jobs to the most efficient machine and reports real-time material usage. For high-volume manufacturing, we offer a fully automated cell with a 10-pallet tower and a 6-axis robot that handles sheets up to 4m x 2m. This reduces manual labor by up to 80% and increases throughput by 35%. The same automation package supports lights-out manufacturing, allowing you to cut metal parts overnight and on weekends. Hundreds of automotive and appliance suppliers have already automated their cutting processes with our solutions.
Energy-Efficient Cutting with Lowest Gas Consumption

Energy-Efficient Cutting with Lowest Gas Consumption

By optimizing the cutting head gas dynamics and using a high-efficiency fiber laser source (up to 45% electrical efficiency), our metal laser cutting systems reduce energy costs by 30% compared to conventional designs. The patented low-pressure cutting mode for thin stainless steel uses nitrogen at only 4-6 bar instead of 15-18 bar, slashing gas expenses significantly. An intelligent standby mode cuts idle power consumption to less than 100W. For a typical 2-shift operation, these savings can exceed $8,000 per year. Furthermore, the laser source is maintenance-free for 100,000 hours, eliminating consumable costs associated with lamps or mirrors in older technologies. This eco-friendly design also reduces your workshop's carbon footprint while delivering the same high-speed cutting performance.
